This project is in the spirit of Fdavies's ( http://www.thingiverse.com/fdavies ) work on printable Sarrus linkages such as http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:684 http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1112 http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1425 http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1969 The idea is to build a mechanism that creates precise large-displacement linear motion, without using precision mechanical components like ground metal rods, ball bearings, and so on. You can see a video of this mechanism at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6Y6iKvTpIc The main article is here: http://www.reprap.org/wiki/Compliant_Linear_Motion_Mechanism_1
